Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of both mainland Europe and Portugal, and a touristic pilgrimage destination. All the forums will tell you not to miss this spot, and I agree with them, despite the hairpin bends leading to the Cabo. Once there, expect a lot of wind, a lot of tourists, and a breathless point of view on the Portuguese coast: rocky cliffs shaped by the ocean wind, unique flora, and a magic atmosphere that makes you feel alone even when you are in the middle of a touristic crowd. Go there, go West! |
