Kaka Point is a small town and a perfect stopover headquarter for visiting the more famous Nugget Point instead of Balchuta. Kaka point is much more intimate than a big city, offers wonderful views on the ocean (even when it is rainy), and people are nice and welcoming.
Nugget Point builds its fame on penguins and sea lions. They usually love sunbathing in this isolated spot in the early morning and late evening. We unfortunately had no chance to see them because the weather was horrible.

Gee that is an expensive motel and really expensive breakfast! But great to see a Kaka Point page on VT. A wondeful NZ poet - Hone Tuwhare (recently died) used to live here.
