Intro of the Town Königstein

The town Königstein is situated on the shores of the river Elbe, below the big fortress that is unique in Germany because of it`s location and architecture. The name of the town was given by the fortress, first mentioned in a document in 1241. Many holiday guests and day-trippers are pleased by the great experience of the fascinating landscape.
The strech of the Elbe valley between Dolni Zieb - Czech Republic - and Pirna is we believe one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Europe. Königstein is located in the center of this landscape. This is the reason that we have taken this place as a starting point for our trips .
The town is central to several bike and walking tours also for visits to Dresden, Prague, Meissen, The Bastei and the fortress Königstein.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Nice town and a good starting point for cycling and walking.
Cons:Press center by high traffic and high frequency of trains.
In a nutshell:Pretty interesting, however, only by the fortress
