Kurort Rathen a populair tourist destination

Kurort Rathen is a small health resort in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on the banks of the Elbe river between Königstein and Pirna. The village is a populair tourist destination for the sights like the Bastei cliffs, the Amselsee and the outdoor theater named Felserbühne Neurathen. The area is also populair for finger climing.

Pros and Cons

Pros:A nice and cozy town, is also a good starting point for hiking tours in the Saxon Switzerland.
Cons:Very busy in the summer during the weekends with long waiting times for the cable ferry, its the only connection between the Elbe banks.
