"A great city!" Sydney by Henk.Irene

It is a modern and nice capital city of NSW. We had a wonderfulltime in this modern city. The first day along the habour (Circulair Quay), Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens and Queen Victoria Building. The second day to Sydney Aquarium. The third day with the Sydney Exploder with stops in Chinatown, Fishmarket and Mrs Macquaries Chair. The fourth and latest day to Manly (nice beaches) and The Rocks.

We were guests of Hans Middeldorp (†) from Harrington on the east coast near Taree. Hans was the father of Tiny our companion during the first 4 weeks. In Sydney we were guests of Richard and Mareen, good friends of Hans. We stayed one night in Manly as a guest of Eric and Jenny, Hans and Tïny"s family. In Tasmania, especially Tasman Peninsula, we were one week guest of Pat (†) and Colleen Johnson in Nubeena. Even friends of Hans. During our trip along the east coast we were still a few days guest of Shirley Myler in Tweed Heads. She was a close friend of Hans. We have enormous enjoyed their hospitality and enjoyed the many travel tips. Our thanks for this, it was fantastic.

From Amsterdam via Hongkong to Sydney

It was a long flight from Amsterdam to Hongkong (about 9300 km and flighttime 10½ hour) and from Hongkong to Sydney (about 7400 km and flighttime 8¾ hour). Total travelingtime, include trainjourney from Hoogeveen to Airport Amsterdam and waitingtime on the airports , about 27 hours.

With Hans, Tiny and Irene into the Pub

After a nice walk tru The Rocks had we a pleasures time in the Fortune of Ware (1828s), the oldest pub in Sydney.
