Restaurant Name: Harry's Bar

The Bellinis were terrific, especilly the third !!! and served by excellent barmen with a sense of humour.
The restaurant was......expensive. Carpaccio OK, Scampi overcooked and tasteless like a relic from the 1970's. Fish soup and Entrecote "historic".
The really weird people watching part was the number of older women all with the same "wind tunnel " expression face jobs. It takes all sorts.

Restaurant Name: Cips Club Terrace

Spectacularly ordinary food in an OK but not special location.
View good but no better than many others.
Service good but no better than many others.

Directions: There is a launch near the Piazza San Marco that takes guests and dinner reservations out to the island. It is a very short boat ride.

Restaurant Name: Ai Gondolieri

Located on a small side street /canal between Academia and Saint Maria Del Salute in Dorsoduro, near the Peggy Guggenheim [ Frommers Venice Day by Day shows the wrong location for this restaurant]. This is a lovely quietly sophisticated area.
The restaurant unusually for Venice does not serve fish but specialises in meat and fungi with a number of vegetarian options. Good wine list sensibly priced.
Meal comes complete with free glass of prosecco, taster starter and choclates at the end. My main course veal was meltingly tender with the lightest, fluffiest, creamiest potatoe I've ever tasted.

Restaurant Name: Cafe Florian

The cafe got the order wrong twice [1 sandwich, 1 Quiche and 2 waters] and after 20 mins we gave in and ate the wrong sandwich and microwaved Quiche.
The whole meal was accompanied by a contant ariel soup of feathers and pigeon droppings - an avien flu disaster in waiting.
