Hanoi -- Lao Cai -- Bac Ha -- Sapa | A night on soft-sleeper cabin |
|
| Bus to Bac Ha -- I was almost fainted |
| | We took an overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Then a bus from Lao Cai to Bac Ha, the bus station is like just half mile away but the damn taxi driver took us the other way around and charged us almost 10 bucks for being "FOOLISH."
Bac Ha Market -- Actually I was the one who didn't wanna go to Bac Ha, I've seen many hill tribes already and I wanna head straight to Sapa. But when everyone else wanted to go, then I just go with the flow.
I think I did, I just ate the dog meat, I knew it!!! This is Bac Ha, hill-tribers' market where they trade their goods (mostly veggies, live animals and clothing) for money and gasoline every Saturday. A little surprise when we found that some of them were speakin' Thai. |
| | Finally arrived Sapa We got back to Lao Cai around 7 p.m., made a stop at the restaurant near the train station. We talked to the owner of that restaurant, and realized that she owns everything around that place!! She got us a van to Sapa. It took a about an hour, till the driver dropped us at the hotel. My first impression was that this town looks pretty much like in Europe!! (...but only by night...) |
