The Biggest Water Fight in the World!!! Thailand has 3 major festivals in a year namely Songklan (which is the Thailand new year), Loi Kah Tong and also the Vegetarian Festival. I was lucky enough to be able to be a part of Songklan this year. They don't call it the biggest water fight in the world for nothing. Almost 1/4 of Bangkok's population is gathered in one main area which is Kao San road. Millions of gallons of water is splashed at each other in this festival. In this area for this festival, you will only find food stalls and stalls which sells water-guns ranging from a mini size to a powerfull water pump gun. Basically everyone are into a SPLASHING GOOD TIME!!! |
| The best pump gun there is... |
| | How to be part of Songklan festival 1? There are 2 ways in which you can be part of this event. First you can get yourself a water gun which ranges from shape, seizes and price. I got these for 500 BHT a piece. There are 2 ways to reload your water gun. 1) you can spot pails of water for free refill along the way although they are pretty rare and hard to spot. 2) You can buy a 1 litre mineral water to refil at 5BHT/ bottle. A pretty small cost for a lot of fun. |
| notice the walk chalk all over our faces... |
| | How to be part of Songklan festival 2? Buy a pack of rock chalk which comes with a bowl. Mixed them up nicely and then just apply it on people along the streets. At the end of the day, you will only see wet and "white" people on the streets... |
