Pieces of history kept in the present time.. Ayuthaya has been on top of the list of places to visit in Thailand for fellow travellers who are interested in history and the part of history that still exist today. Although many will compare this place with Sukhotai in the Northern part of Thailand or Siem Reap in Cambodia, the time period in which this was built and also the architecture significance varies.
Most of the Wats are centered in the middle of town which can be assesed on a bicycle and also the most cost efficient and recommended way. I did 80 percent of around the town on a bicycle and but then there was 2 of the Wat which I have to charter a tuk tuk to take me there because it was way too far. |
| | History and religion manifest as one You will notice as you start to visit the Wats that there are Buddha statues everywhere. From the more complete looking ones to the broken ones in various shapes and sizes and different colors as well. I also notice that a lot of them are being crafted differently too. Simply amazing... |
| | Pictures are allowed but with diligence You can take pictures in all the Wats here in Ayuthaya but not without rules. Please observe the picture taking rules before you get chased out by some locals as being rude and insulting to their beliefs and history. |
