Before I got to this place, the only thing that ran through my mind was how will this be different from all the other beach/islands that I have been to? Will it just be another nasty dirty beach? Or will it be so crowded that you feel you are more comfortable in the hotel room?? Trust me when I say that I kept comparing beaches around the world with the one I had in Gold Coast Australia when I backpacked with 5 other mates from Colongata all the way to Cairns on the eastern coast in 2005. All we saw was beautiful clean blue sea and mostly not too overcrowded but something kept telling me that this will be different. Something tells me that its not just the beach. Its way more that...

One thing is for sure... This is Thailand!!! I have never had a bad experience in Thailand before. Its been a track record so far. Why fail now? It is definately worth a try. Even if I fail, at least I die trying...

I am finally here. After reading so many good remarks from fellow VTers about Phuket, I just have to get myself here and I never once have regretted it. Since this is a budget/backpacking trip, my mate (Aaron) and I are all out looking for the cheapest place to stay, the best and cheapest food we can find and the best value for money things to do.

When I say its the cheapest, we really mean it. We even asked the locals, hotel receptionist and other beach bummers around before we hit the food stalls. Its not the best, I can attest to that but its something. Why do you want to have fish and chips here when I can get it back home? Why do i want to have seafood when I have had one of the best and yet still is the best in East Malaysia? I want something local! I wanna dine where the locals dine, dance where the locals dance and walk where the locals walk. At the end...its one of the best trip I had with my pal. Enjoy...

Although a bit crowded with tourist, its a good place for beach activities like paraglyding and sort or you can just put on your sunnies and beach bump the whole day. Basically anything goes...
