| A view of city from my hotel room |
I visited Alexandria on my way to Cairo, in fact, due to Air Arabia destination map, and had only 17 hours to spend there. So I did not have enought opportunities of exploring the city, but just a couple of its places. As a foreword I should say that my impressions of the city and Egypt generally are very contrasting, good and bad lying next to each other...
My first "hello" in Alexandria was to the Al Nozha airport - just a small and tourist-unfriendly place.
The second was the Helnan Palestine Hotel in the Montazah garden, a great place to stay enjoying the beauty of the Mediterranean and the surrounding nature!
Montazah garden... that's where we loved to spend out daytime before our time to depart for Cairo approached...
Our last destination in Alexandria was the Sidi Gaber train station, from where the turbo train took us to Cairo. From here, so to say, the next page of our trip begins... But wait, have you had a view to my tips below? Just make sure to go through them to have a full picture of what I saw and felt in Alexandria, before moving to the heart of the Egypt... |
