"Home of the Kammerschens" Schönecken by mnojo
Schönecken Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 1 photos
My greatgranparents, Christian Kammerschen & Susanna Fussman were from Schönecken and Brandscheid. They came to the US in the late 1800s and settled in Lake Linden, MI.
When we made out trip to Germany, distant cousin Tony Kammerschen welcomed us and made us feel very much at home. We stayed with him and Käthi, met one of their daughters and grandchildren. We also met one of his sisters and brothers. What a wonderful old town and friendly people.
According to the family history, our ancestors were knights that occupied the Burg at one time.
