SORSOGON

Sorsogon is the most southern province in mainland Luzon. The major attraction is the Bulusan Mountain Lake, perched in the crater of a still active volcano. The lake has been dubbed, "The Switzerland of the Orient," by foreign visitors who compare its beauty to the famous mountain lakes of Central Europe.
Divers and nature lovers are being drawn to the small coastal town of Donsol in increasing numbers by the presence of massive whale sharks (butanding). Between January, but most prominently in March and April, these gentle denizens of the deep can be seen cruising around the waters.
From Sorsogon, you can make a little detour to Gubat and the long, broad Rizal Beach on the Pacific. Barcelona Church, south of Rizal Beach is also worth the visit.
Other attractions are Bulus, Mapaso, Masacrot and San Benon Springs, Bato Limestone Cave and Tulong-Gapo Beach in Bacon.
