Wulai Lunch

Wulai Old Street has plenty of restaurant serving the rural township specialties including bamboo shoots, muachi, bamboo tube rice and delicacies from the mountains. We ordered seafood & some vegetables plus rice costing around NT$680. Food is just ok.

Directions: MRT to Xindian Station. Directly in front of station, take bus with destination name: Sindian-Taipei Main Station. The bus journey takes about forty minutes and costs NT$40. Wulai is the last stop.

Yangminshan Lunch

Our relatives in Taiwan brought us to a restaurant in Zhuzi-hu (bamboo lake) in Yangminshan after touring the calla lily plantation. This is the most satisfying meal we had in Taipei. Indeed, it was very cheap & delicious costing only about NT$2500. It was a set menu with vegetables, meat, fish, soup, eat-all-you-can rice, chicken, pork etc... We had difficulty finishing the whole set with 10 of us. The restaurant was packed with people having their lunch after the morning tour.

Favorite Dish: The whole set menu is delicious.

Hualien Wanton Soup

Mr. Lu Lai-Fu, our guide took us to a restaurant in Hualien serving delicious wanton soup. Costing around NT$60 per bowl. It is quite filling & satisfying. The guide told us that it's the specialty of Hualien. We had this dinner prior to our train back to Taipei from Hualien.

Yehliu Lunch

The restaurant we went to after our Yehliu Geopark tour is along the street near the park entrance. It is a simple eatery serving cheap food. You can eat cheaply at around NT$60 for a lunch set. Food is just ok for the price.

Directions: Take a Guo Kuang bus from the Taipei Intercity Bus Terminal (next to Taipei Main Station) Counter 19 to Yehliu -- "Chin Shan Youth Activity Centre" route, a distance of about 54km. The journey takes about 1hr 20 mins. The bus fare is NT$102.
