Vancouver, BC, Canada

Vancouver a city along BC's temperate coastline

Vancouver's lit skyline on a winter's evening
I live in the outskirts of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I was born and raised here. I currently work at a local TV station, Global BC, on the local channel 11, in the Human Resources department. Vancouver has grown considerably as a city, busily adding to its sprawling skyline during the last 20 years. And, the boom hasn't stopped. A huge convention centre and a soccer stadium are in various stages of being built by Canada Place, and more condos are being built in Gastown and False Creek neighbourhoods.
Burrard Street Bridge

Downtown Vancouver

The highest concentration of restaurants, pubs, cafes, nightclubs, hotels, shopping centres, etc. can be found in the downtown area of Vancouver - in the West End and along Granville, Burrard and Robson Streets.

Another great place to shop and eat is on Granville Island where there are many food shops, art galleries, pubs, restaurants, etc. Just walk over the Burrard Street Bridge or Granville Street Bridge from downtown to get there, it's a gorgeous walk on a summer's day.
Royal Vancouver Yacht Club at Jericho Beach

A Harbour City Surrounded By Mountains

There are many marinas and docks in Vancouver's busy harbours. In the distance are the North Shore mountains in West Vancouver and North Vancouver districts.
