we stayed at the sonesta beach hotel in august 2004. it was on the last week of our month in egypt so we only stayed for 5 days, which was regretted as we had such a good time and were desperate to stay longer. we received a warm welcome upon arrival, and all staff are very friendly, and do their best to make sure youre comfortable. we had a room by the pool side which was very convenient. the swimming pools are great. really big, separate one for children and thier is also a in-pool bar. the sonesta beach resort also has its own private stretch of beach which is amazing. however, it is shingle, and the futher out into the sea you go protective footwear is a must, otherwise cuts are inevitable. but it is worth is as the corals are amazing and the fish are beautiful.
Unique Qualities: the hotel is right in the centre of naama bay where all the restaurants and shops are. its great at night, as its so lively right into the early hours, but unlike britain, completely suitable for children. there is always so much to do as the resort is huge and you can always pass into neighbouring hotels for a wander! views are amazing, weather is fantasic. food at the sonesta is also very good!! were stayed half board so had breakfast and most days, dinner at the hotel. for both there is such a wide selection of food, for all tastes, so there is bound to be something for everyone. it is all well cooked and presented, not what i would have expected from a buffet! also at dinner there is always entertainment in the form of music and dancing which is always wonderful!
