The View From Cliff Top on Mt. LeConte

Although a strenuous hike, the trip to the top of Mt. LeConte is a wonderful challenge featuring a great reward at the top. While lots of people visit our hometown to shop or maybe just relax the real magic is in the park. The glory of God is nowhere more clear than it is on the top of the mountain.

The Falls at the Ramsey Cascades Trail

Another of our favorite hikes is the Ramsey Cascades Trail. A good day hike, this is about a 5 mile hike (each way) but the waterfalls at the top are the highest in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Gatlinburg has Great Flora Too!

If you visit our area in the Spring or Summer make sure to check out the wildflowers and other beautiful plants here. The Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel plants are two of my favorites. Their flowers bloom from late Spring through the Summer and range from lavender to lilac and even pink in color. If you would like to know more about our area please visit our blog at http://gatlinburg.blogspot.com.
