Anyone wanting a breath of fresh air and a good game of golf should head out to the paradisiacal Abu Dhabi Golf Club by Sheraton.
The Abu Dhabi Golf Club by Sheraton is located 30 minutes from the city center and just 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Carved majestically out of the desert, the Club features two 18-hole courses designed by Peter Harradine. The two courses occupy 162 hectares, landscaped with pocket palms, ornamental trees, shrubs and saltwater lakes.
The 7,204-yard Championship Course is a natural inspiration. Its lush fairways, strategically placed bunkers and generous greens provide a rewarding challenge for even the most skilled golfers. As a perfect complement to the Championship Course, the 6,498-yard Academy Course is more forgiving, making it ideal for all players and especially those new to the game

Al-Hosn Palace, commonly known as the Old Fort or the White Fort, was built in the late 19th century, making it the oldest building in town. In fact it's one of the few buildings in Abu Dhabi that's more than 30 years old.
The interior is off limits, used by the Cultural Foundation as a research centre, but the courtyard is a wonderful place to cool down. The tilework over the main (northern) gate is gorgeous.

Owned/managed by Abu Dhabi Airport Duty Free, Al Ghazal Golf Club is regarded as the leading desert golf course in the World.
The sand course may well be novel to many visitors, but it also presents an exciting challenge to both the novice and the experienced golfer.
Instead of 'greens' there are 'browns'. These are created by compacting rolled and treated sand, and - as players quickly discover - they give an extremely true putting surface. The feature holes are 1,16,17,18 - several of which have water hazards.
The Abu Dhabi World Sand Golf Championship, hosted by Abu Dhabi Duty Free, was held at the Al Ghazal Golf Club.It was won by Greg Owen in 2004 and Thongchai Jaidee in 2005.
