International City of London

Getting hot hot hot at Carnival time
A worldclass Actress Jenny Seagrove once said "I love nature so I spend as much time as I can in London's parks and gardens, we are blessed to have such a wonderful green spaces on our doorstep. My entire useful life and as I far I can remember London was always my home. I lives in Kensington, West Kensington, Hammersmith and Fulham, I lived one in Peckham, Acton, South Kensington and now Kilburn boarders to Maida Vale. I was very proud to call myself a Londener, despite the changes we have seen recently specially when Europe extended it's boarders by having a flood of people from the new EU member stated coming to the United Kingdom. A diverse multi cultural society, London is surely a place I can call a worldclass capital, a lace you can sample and taste of any country you wish. Right now, is the middle of the Summer when London puts it's shades on, grabs some sun cream and a picnic box and steps out to enjoy the pleasures of the capital, especially our numerous green spaces, stately ornamental gardens and lavish parks. Only in London you can see Billy Elliot's musical show these days. To March year 2008, The Sound of Music show os on at London's Palladium. London has great outdoors, is there any other metropolis than can compare with London when the sun comes out and the city goes alfresco? Like a world on a plate London's 7000 restaurants and over 80 international cuisines make it the world's capital for global dining. I can easily claim that I live in a city full of stage spectaculars from Shakespeare to new and classic dramas or hit blockbuster musicals, London Theatreland has it all. I beg of you not to miss cream of crop events in London this summer. A galaxy far far away, George Lucas opens up his movie vaults for star wars celebration europe at Excel London. The Magnificent Hampton Court Place hosts amazing shows every year. The Royal Festival Hall celebrates it's nre relaunch with fantastic operas. National Portrait Gallery and Kensington Palace remebers this very August 2007 Princess Diana. How about Rise and Shine concept when massive crowds start flocking to Finsbury Park for the Mayor's free all-day Rise and Shine Festival, young people from all over the Capital come to show off their city to appreciate cultural diversity. Royal Albert Hall, The worlds's most spectacular classical music festivals come here every year. Even The Tour De France came to our capital in 2007, this wonderful capital has become a host for many sports events every year. Notting Hill Carnival 2007 takes place on Sunday 26 August and Monday 27 August. The Council does not organise Carnival we facilitate the event. We recognise that Carnival has a big impact on the lives of those who live and work in Notting Hill and surrounding areas. We will work closely with Westminster City Council, the Carnival organisers LNHC Ltd and the Metropolitan Police to ensure that Carnival is safe and that residents get a fair deal.

London

The cosmopolitan city of London is the capital of England and its very name suggests history and grandeur. It is the premier city in Europe in terms of size, population and per-capita wealth. What strikes visitors more than anything about London is the sheer size of the city, spreading across a huge area from its core on the River Thames, which meanders through central London, dividing it into northern and southern halves. The central area and the most important sights, theatres and restaurants are within the London underground train Circle Line on the north bank of the River Thames. The trendy and tourist-ridden West End of London lies within the western portion of the loop and includes Soho, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Regent Street. Those without local roots will find London surprisingly diverse, and besides English, around 200 different languages are spoken within its confines and all the major religions are represented. At times London can seem more like a country than a city.
