i would recommend the hampton inn-downtown because of it's excellent location. it is located in the heart of columbia's restaurant and entertainment area. it is also a short distance from the capitol and the USC campus. the hampton inn offers all of the amenities that you would expect of this moderately priced chain.

the columbia marriott has an excellent location downtown for both the tourist and business traveler. the columbia marriott offers all of the amenities that you would expect from this better chain. on my last visit to columbia the rates were $ 125 per night which i thought was an excellent value.
