brooklyn bridge
begining at park place and the government center on the mahattan side, the brooklyn bridge crosses the east river to brooklyn. there is a pedestrian walkway over the upper level of the bridge that offers great views of lower mahattan and the south street sea port. a fun and free way to get a different view of the city.

chrysler building from the empire state building
the empire state building in the heart of manhattan is must see stop on a visit to new york. from the observation deck you get an excellent view of the city. pictured is view of the chrysler building from the observation deck.

the united nations building is located at 1st ave and east 46th street . there are tours available of the u.n. complex. the united nations was formed after WWII in order to diplomatically solve conflicts between countries.

across the street from the new york stock exchange is the federal building. it was once the home to the u.s. treasury when new york was the capitol of the united states. george washington took the oath of office here in 1789.

statue of liberty
the circle line boat tour is a great way to get an overview of the city. the guide on the boat will point out important buildings, monuments, and will talk about the history of the city and some of the famous people who live there. the boat will take you into new york harbor for a close look of the statue of liberty and ellis island. they offer 1 1/2, and 3 hour tours.

the metropolitan museum of art (the met) is one of the finest art museums in the world. it is a must see sight for those who have interest in art, history, and culture. the highlights of the museum are the european painting rooms, the arms and armour section, the greek and roman rooms, and the egyptian collection. the museum also hosts traveling collections from museums from around the world.
