the purpose of this tip is to help you decide on a hotel in las vegas. since there are hundreds to choose from making a decision can be difficult. i travel to las vegas frequently on business and have stayed at most of the hotels on the strip. in order to get the best value you should do a little internet home work before selecting a hotel. rates can vary from day to day depending on the day of the week, time of the year, and if there are major trade shows or special events going on when you plan to visit. rooms rates are always higher on weekends. if your travel plans are flexable you can save a lot of money. my following hotel tips are posted in a best, better, good, and budget order. one good thing about las vegas is you can stay in a five star hotel for a lot less money than any other place else in america. hotels on the south las vegas strip will be the most expensive while hotels and motels off the strip and downtown will be the cheapest. note: there is an $8.00 per night room tax that is usually not quoted when you search rates.

the venetian is one of las vegas' better luxury resort hotels. it offers all the amenities of a first class resort hotel. if you are a business traveler it is the best location for the sands convention center. the hotel has a venice theme with replica land marks of venice italy.

the wynn las vegas was built by the famous developer steve wynn. he also developed the mirage, the bellagio, and treasure island. these hotels changed the look of the strip and added to the building boom of high end hotels on the strip over the last twenty years. the wynn is one of the newest high end hotels on the strip and offers all the amenities of a first class resort. this resort has a first class golf course near the property.

the palazzo is the newest resort on the strip and is part of the venetian complex. the palazzo opened on jan 17th 2008 and while as a guest at the venetian i attended it's grand opening. i have not stayed at the palazzo but i was given a tour of it's rooms and amenities. another first class resort hotel on the vegas strip.

the paris hotel much like the venetian is a collection of replica landmarks of paris france. a very good hotel and casino on the las vegas strip. moderately priced.

the planet hollywood resort hotel was opened in 2007 and is one of the newest hotels on the strip. the decor is modern and has an upscale casino atmosphere. a very good casino hotel. moderately priced.
