battle of corinth visitor center

the battle of corinth visitor center is located on linden street just west of downtown. the corinth visitor center is part of the shiloh national battlefield park located in nearby shiloh tennessee. the visitor center has a museum and here you can get information on the seige of corinth and the battle of corinth. also the visitor center is a good place to get information and directions to shiloh national battlefield.

downtown

the downtown historic district is an area bordered by washington street to the west, tate street to the south, douglas street to the east, and main street to the north. the downtown historic district has a number of historic homes and buildings as well as restaurants and shops. the corinth downtown historic district is listed on the national register of historic places.

corinth national cemetery

the corinth national cemetery is located in downtown corinth. this is the final resting place of union solders killed in the battle of corinth and americans who served in subsequent wars. the corinth national cemetery is listed on the national register of historic places.

col. william p. rogers monument

the colonel william p. rogers monument is located on the grounds of the corinth battlefield park. colonel william p. rogers CSA was the commander of the second texas infantry at the battle of shiloh and corinth. rogers was killed at battery robinett during the battle of corinth.

confederate civil war memorial

pictured is the alcorn county confederate civil war memorial. the memorial is located on the grounds of the alcorn county courthouse. this memorial is a standing soldier motif which is common in the south.

alcorn county courthouse

pictured is the alcorn county courthouse located in downtown corinth. on my visit to corinth i was unable to find out any architectural or historical information about the courthouse. due to it's neo-classical appearence i would guess it was built in the early 20 th century.
