juliette is a tiny town located in monroe county in central georgia. the town of juliette was named after juliette mc craken an early settler to the area. juliette became nationally famous when the film "fried green tomatoes" that was filmed there in 1991. the film was based on the novel "fried green tomatoes at the whistle stop cafe" by fannie flagg. juliette was used as the location in the film for the fictional town of whistle stop alabama. near the town of juliette is the jarrell plantation historic site. for movie buffs and those interested in southern culture juliette is an interesting side trip off of I-75 near forsyth georgia.
