winter park is a charming town just north of orlando. the city of winter park surrounds five beautiful lakes conected by canals. in the center of town is central park and park ave. park ave is lined with upscale stores, restaurants and outdoor cafes. the town is known for it's brick streets which are lined by beautiful oak trees. central park is just one of numerious parks in the city. winter park is known for it's arts and culture. there are several fine art museums in the city. in march each year winter park hosts it's sidewalk art festival. 250,000 people come to winter park each year for this event. in october winter park hosts a smaller fall arts festival. |
|  | pictured is knowles chapel at rollins college. rollins college is in the heart of winter park. it is a beautiful campus to visit to see it's mediterranean architecture and it's lakeside location. rollins college also hosts the cornel fine arts museum which is worth a visit. winter park is located 20 miles northeast of the theme park area of orlando. it is very nice place to spend a day when in the orlando area. from downtown orlando take I-4 east to the fairbanks ave. exit. take fairbanks east about 2 miles to park ave. from park ave most of the museums and attractions are within walking distance. to learn more about winter park check out www.ci.winter-park.fl.us |
