thousands of years ago titusville was home to the ais indians. titusville began as small village named sand point in the 1850's. confederate colonel henry titus came to sand point in 1867 to build a town. titusville was incorporated in 1873. titusville's first economic boom came in 1892 when henry flagler built a train station in titusville. tourists would come to titusville for it's excellent fishing. titusville's second economic boom came in the 1950's with the cape canaveral missle testing center. today millions of visitors come from all over the world to visit the kennedy space center.
