theodore alabama is a small town southwest of mobile. theodore is home to the beautiful bellingrath gardens and home. the gardens and home were built by walter bellingrath. bellingrath was a wealthy coca cola bottling executive from mobile. in 1927 the gardens were laid out by the landscape architect george b. rodgers. the bellingrath home was completed in 1935. in the winter the camellias are in bloom, in the summer the roses are in bloom. in my opinion the best time to visit bellingrath is in the spring when the azaleas and dogwoods are in bloom. bellingrath is one of the finest azalea gardens in america. bellingrath gardens are located about 25 miles southwest of mobile. when in the mobile area or driving along I-10 it is a very worth while place to visit.
