Clyde's: american Clyde's Review

clyde's is a local chain with 13 restaurants in the washington d.c. area. i normally do not write tips about chain restaurants but clyde's was quite good. i had lunch at their location in chinatown and enjoyed the victorian decor and the food was an excellent value. for a nice moderately priced place to eat and drink i recommend it.

acadiana: cajun in d.c.

acadiana is a very good louisana seafood restaurant in central washington. the decor is modern but the food is down home louisana. the seafood gumbo was excellent. good service, good cajun food.

brasserie beck: belgium cuisine

brasserie beck is a very nice belgium restaurant and bar in central washington. the food is very good and moderately priced. the roasted rabbit was very good as was the pork tenderloin. they offer a huge selection of belgium beer both on tap and by the bottle. be careful when ordering beer, some are quite expensive.

peking gourmet inn: excellent chinese

the peking gourmet inn is an excellent northern chinese restaurant in falls church viginia. it is the restaurant of choice of presidents, congressmen, senators and other washington notables. the peking gourmet inn is located in a nondescript strip center on leesburg pike but don't judge the restaurant by it's humble exterior. the interior of the restaurant is very nice and the food is excellent. the menu is traditional northern chinese cuisine. if you are looking for lo-cal "california" chinese this not for you. the peking duck is fat and delicious. you will need a car or taxi from downtown D.C.

Directions: from downtown washington take I-395 south into virginia. then exit VA-7 west (leesburg pike). the restaurant is just past bailey's crossroads just before you enter falls church on the left hand side of the road.
