besalu is a beautiful medieval village in the mountains of catalonia. besalu is famous for it's fortified bridge entering the town over the river fluvia. besalu has two beautiful medieval churches, sant videnc and sant pere. besalu is located about 25 miles northwest of girona on hwy C66. the nearby villages of sant joan des fonts and ripoll are also very interesting. the area around besalu is a very beautiful part of catalonia and reminds me alot of northern italy.
