Ueno Market Ueno Area Review

I went to the outdoor market in Ueno. There were lots of vendors selling food, clothing and household items. I did not really purchase anything because the prices were high for clothing and gifts. I found a weird sex-fetish shop on the street running parallel to the market. There were interesting costumes and then some. We went for lunch at an Indian restaurant on the 2nd Floor. It was alright.

Harajuku Harajuku & Omote Sando Review

I was so impressed by the stylish shops and fashionable Japanese in the Harajuku district. I had a great time wandering around the shops, viewing all the different fashion-styles, and trying on (and buying) a Kimono and Tokyo 135.

The fashionistas come out for viewing on the bridge on Sundays. Be sure to ask before taking photographs of fashionable people.

Akihabara Akihabara Review

Akihabara is the electronics district and has hundreds of shops for electronics, pachinko parlours, collector shops and Maid Cafes. You can spend hours here wandering through the shops. Unless you are looking for something in particular, I would suggest having a quick look around and moving on.

Hachikō Statue

This statue commemorates the loyal Akita dog of Professor Ueno. This dog walked the professor to and from the subway station for years, until the professor passed away. The dog continued to go to the station every day until his death.

Sensō-ji Temple Asakusa Review

The Sensō-ji Temple is the biggest attraction in Asakusa. The Buddhist temple was beautiful and amazing. You can get a fortune and tie it on a wire for good fortune. The place was crowded with people and there were many statues, shrines and pagodas. The surround area also had good a-la-carte places to eat and plenty of shops for souvenirs.
