Great Walking City

I did a lot of walking in Liverpool. I really enjoyed walking around and taking pictures at the Albert Docks, Liverbirds, shopping promenade, Matthews Street and Woods Street. Skip Chinatown though--it's a ghost town and really rundown.

Nightlife is great in Liverpool

On Saturday, we started our night out on Matthews Street at the Cavern Club, where The Beatles were discovered. There was a live band then the DJ played Alternative Rock mixed with Beatles, 70s and 80s.

We continued with the Cavern Pub (mostly older folks with 50s to 80s), Revolution (awesome dance music and mix), some 70s and 90s bars and clubs, and finished the night at Mood at 2 am (open until 3 am and plays dance mix). Wished we went into Flares (70s).

End it all with a take-away kebab! An English tradition.

There are more night clubs on Woods Street, such as Revolution and Reflex (80s).

Majority of the bars and clubs do not charge cover. The best thing to do is go to one, have a drink, and move on to the next one that is appealing.

Albert Dock

We stayed at the Premier Inn at the Alberts Docks (double 60 per night) next to The Beatles Museum. The Albert Dock has nightclubs (Baby Cream, Ha Ha Canteen and Pan American) and Restaurants (Est Est Est). The Tate Museum is also here.

You can take a boat tour on the Duck (yellow bus that floats on the water).

Great location on the water and book in advance for hotel deals. Easy walk to the city centre.
