This is Eva and myself just days before the whole 9-11 disaster. We had run away from the national Park Service (sorry dudes) since the eedjits had left to build a back packing trail a day earlier than expected. I must say we did try to drive her truck up the mountain but when your head smacks the window on the back of the cab and the ATV-ers come to a dead stop and stare, well, you being to rethink your mission.
So we drove randomly across New Mexico. The night before we slept in The Valley Of Fires, an old lava flow, and on the way into Roswell picked up an old coot hitch hiking. We stopped at the research center for trinkets and a quick peek. I would have looked around more but I think Eva was spooked. Here is their website. http://www.iufomrc.org/
What we did for a souvenier t-shirt since we were on a budget--- we went to the Salvation Army and found some for $2. Food for thought.
