I went to Italy for my fortieth birthday. I took a 10 day Cosmos tour that included stops in Rome, Venice, Florence, Orvieto, Vertebo, Assis, Pisa, San Gimignano, and parts of Tuscany. It was a fast paced trip meant for those under the age of 60. I enjoyed it immensly and would like to go back and see Italy again. Like many tours they kill you with the add ons. And the food on this tour was ok but not great. But I made a good friend on this trip that I now travel with yearly.

The Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps in Rome. Built in 1723-1725 to link the Bourbon Spanish Embassy to the Holy See. The Trinita dei Monti Church is above. There are 138 steps and when I was there they were packed full of people hanging out. Seems to be quite the meeting place.
