For all you Mariachi Music aficionados, the premier Mariachi Northwest Festival is the consummate venue in the United States. Held in conjunction with the Wenatchee Appleblossom Festival, under the brilliant directorship of "El Maestro" Mark Fogelquist, it takes place the third week in April. This year's Mariachi Workshop/Classes and performance took place April 18-22, 2000. Sr. Fogelquist expertly coordinates Mariachi Northwest 2000 workshop instruction and performances held at Wenatchee High School Auditorium. The bevy of Mariachi greats and cultural instructors read like a Who's Who of the Mariachi world. Maestro Jose L. Hernandez, composer, conductor, and founder of el Mariachi Sol de Mexico and the all-women Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, offers his expertise and gifted teaching skills to impart this unique, cultural music form to young students through the Mexican Heritage Soceity.

Each day of instruction one could hear the musicianmanship, tonal quality, enthusiasm, and learning process of the young students progress and develop. It is the "most beautiful music in the world" Mariachi Music, in the learning stages of these dedicated jovenes(youngsters) it is heavenly!!
