Administration Building

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an independent nation, member of the Commonwealth like Canada, but much smaller, of course. Kingstown is its capital and one of it's noticable modern buildings is the Administration Building that has government offices. It is located right on the waterfront of Kingstown Harbour.

Police Station

Right across from the Administration building is the Police Station an excellent example of colonial architecture. It also houses the immigration bureau where you'll have to get your visa extended if you stay more than a month. Along Bay Street, which separates the Administration Building and the Police Station are the major commercial locations.

Parliment and Courthouse

Kingstown consists of three parallel streets: Bay Street, Middle Street and Back Street. On back Street is another architectural gem the Parliment Building.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has the usual Caribbean virtues of delightful climate and unusually friendly people but it is unique in that it still is a country that has its own life to live rather than creating schlock that it thinks will attract tourists. When movies like "Pirates of the Caribbean" need locations that haven't been destroyed from the charm they had in the 1700s they come to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
