I would use the city's more poetic title - 'Silver City by the Golden Sands' - but 'granite city' is far more fitting. In truth, the center is more 'grey' than 'silver'.
Having lived here all my life, you'd think I might have a rather large list of 'things to visit.'
Well, I don't.
If you're a tourist, the number of monuments - or 'things to take photos of with you in front' - are scarce.
However, if you're looking for a day out at the beach followed by a night out on the town, Aberdeen might just be what you're looking for. |
Sunlight in the Grey If you come to Aberdeen seeking beauty spots, you must be prepared to venture further out of the city.
My Aberdeen beauty spots can be found near the River Don. These include the sweeping expanse of the Scotstown Moor, a wild and unkempt nature reserve brimming with deer and other wildlife, and the Donmouth, a tucked-away beach with the sea to one side, and a golf course on the other. |
