| | Cuisine: Fruits de Mer The cuisine I sampled in Plozévet was some of the best I've ever had. I tried home-cooked 'moules et frites' (Mussels and chips - as seen in the left photo), rayfish and shark. All served with a glass of the best regional cider - quite simply the best cider I've ever tasted (a brand only found in Brittany, called 'Kerné')! |
| | Musique: Les Boulineriens The Boulineriens were a friendly group of beer-swinging, robust older men singing a strange and wonderful combination of celtic music and sea chanties. Many of the locals got up to dance - it was fantastic to see!
One of their chanties was the newly-famous 'Santiano' from the Star Academie programme:
C'est un fameux trois-mâts fin comme un oiseau Hisse et ho! Santiano! Dix-huit noeuds quatre cents tonneaux Je suis fier d'y ętre matelot |
