Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, is a city of a long history. As the ancient capital of five dynasties - Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing. It boasts numerous historical relics and beautiful scenery, which offer great attraction to tourist.
Beijing is China's second largest city, after Shanghai. It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. Beijing is the politics, culture and international exchange centre of the nation.
Beijing is known mostly for its ancient civilization, but its modernity is also remarkable. A trip to Beijing should include such sites as imperial palaces and other buildings, ancient structures, museums, and natural scenic spots.
Beijing is known as a ‘sea of bicycles’. The waves of bicycles rushing to work in the morning from a spectacle.
However, such trip would be incompleted without taking a look at the modern architecture that has sprung up in recent years and visiting the homes of ordinary Beijingers.
Beijing has distinct seasons. In springtime, Beijing is dusty and windy. Spring is short here. Summer is hot, but the hot weather is short-lived plus rainfall is plenful. Autumn, lasting about 50 days, is the best season for tourist. Winter is long and cold.
