"Lakones - Classical Greece" Lakones by mingul

The gem uphill

A lot of people may miss this spot that is situated uphill from Paleokastritsa. It is a picturesque classical Greek village that has only one road winding through its middle.

The houses are pretty much un-renovated and give the impression of crumbling, but that only adds to the savour of this "off the beaten path" place. Here you will also find true Greeks nothing close to the ones you may know from your various touristic encounters throughout Greece. You may even find women wearing national costumes.

Driving through Lakones

Lakones' streets are very narrow and there is only one place where 2-3 cars can be parked. That place is situated in the middle of it where there is a small traffic roundabout. Any way this road has traffic lights at the entrance in Lakones since it cannot accomodate 2 cars coming from different parts at the same time.

Views of Paleokastritsa

The views of Paleokastritsa from Lakones are absolutely stunning, therefore I do reccomend that you find that good parking place and enjoy the stunning scenery. On my things to do page, I will post some of the shots I have taking of Paleokastritsa and its enchanting bays.
