The former capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire is one of the most charming locations in Eastern Europe. I was absolutely amazed with the location of it.
The river that goes through Veliko Turnovo has largely the handwriting shape of the letter U. Yantra, as it is called, is surrounded by several hills, each one of them being filled with tiny cobbled streets, and small houses. In some points the view is amazing and I personally reccomend this experience as one of the best in Eastern Europe.

I was here for a couple of hours last mth - worth going back just for the mouthwatering sounding Trazezitsa restaurant!Sadly didnt have time for the fortress either!
