The history of the city goes back to the 10 th century but .The citadel and the ruins of Oradea was first mentioned during the Mongol Attacks .In the 16 th century the Ottoman empire was on scene and In the 18 th century the viennese engineer Hillerbrant planned the city in baroque style .
