cafe jarren - Amsterdam

De Jaren Cafe: Another Cafe De Jaren Review

If you desire to relax and read a paper, sit on the terrace and overlook the Amstel, or meet someone to begin a lovely night on the town, you can certainly be satisfied here. The ‘Borrel hapjes’ or snacks that accompany your drink come at a slightly higher price, as well as the international choices served for dinner. The Muntplein and Rembrandtplein are just on the other side of the river. The Waterlooplein is a few minutes from the side and the Dam Square is right up the road. You can enjoy your food and the traffic of Amstel river as well.

bulldog coffee shop - Amsterdam

bulldog coffee shop

Bulldog: Coffee Shops

Coffeeshops are for people who are over 18. Because they are allowed to sell soft drugs .Thought soft drugs have not been legalized in the Netherlands, it is tolerated when used discretely. The coffeeshops can legally store up to 500 g of marijuana and can sell up to 5 grams to adults over 18.Bulldog's bar and coffeeshop is certainly a major attraction often crowded with groups of tourists and visited by celebrities. The building used to be the Amsterdam police station, the shop has been renovated to resemble a police station. A collection of police and criminals artifacts can be viewed and passing some time in the jail cells is highly recommended .It was very interesting for me because coming from a country (who produce drugs and its strictly forbidden to use it) like mine I was schocked for the tolerance to drugs.

Haesje Claes Restaurant: Easy Haesje Claes Review

The restaurant is formed by six connecting houses with three separate entrances. The rustic interior of beam ceilings and brick wall wraps warmly creating a time travel experience for all who enter. Haesje Claes has one menu serving warm meals all day. This menu changes every month according to season. It is best to reserve in advance.

Piet de Leeuw: Steakhouse Piet de Leeuw - Steakhouse Review

The cosy eatery has its original ‘brown pub’ characteristics from the authentic wooden furnishings, oil ceiling to the beer engines on display. Its interior dating from 1949, contributes to creating a traditional Dutch atmosphere which is complimented by their local regulars, offering real Amsterdam to you on and off the plate.
During your visit to Piet de Leeuw you may expect to hear old and new Dutch music playing in the background, that relaxes the atmosphere within the restaurant, which despite its appearance, is by no means a pub. With a single set menu of warm dished, they offer no cold lunches, but it’s possible to have a selection of starters like ‘Herring’ or ‘Eel’.

Favorite Dish: famous ‘Beefsteak’ and ‘Fried Sole

The pantry restaurant - Amsterdam

The pantry restaurant

The Pantry: Dutch The Pantry Review

Furnished with wooden tables and chairs, it seems more like a Dutch living room than diner.
The traditional meals are illustrated through a Dutch flag beside the dishes' name.
They also offer an extensive wine list from different countries, Located in the busy streets of Leidseplein, it is advised to reserve your table in advance as it can get busy. During the summer it's possible to sit on the small terrace with your choice of company.
The Pantry is an ideal restaurant for trying the traditional dinner the Dutch.

Favorite Dish: These include 'Herring' as well as 'Stamppotten;' a mashed potato dish mixed with vegetables and sausages.
