InterContinental Hotels IC CEYLAN ISTANBUL: In Taksim
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • No room has a bad view at the Ceylan Inter-Continental, Istanbul's 390-room asymmetrical skyscraper.
The Ceylan Inter-Continental Hotel Istanbul towers above Taksim Park, with fine views, including of the Bosphorus, from its upper floors.
Taksim Square is only a few minutes' walk across Taksim Park. Very well located

Hotel Ciragan Palace Kempinski: Very Bosphorus Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Is the Çiragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Istanbul the most luxurious hotel in the city?
Many people think so.I can agree that its the best hotel in bosphorus
The Çiragan (CHEE-rah-AHN) Kempinski has a reputation for deluxe accommodations and service, but it's the location—right on the Bosphorus shore next to the restored 19th-century Ottoman Çiragan Palace—that gives the hotel its caché.I use to play football in this ground.
The hotel itself is a modern building designed in harmony with the restored palace. The 284 guest rooms, 20 suites, and most facilities (restaurants, bars, etc) are in the hotel portion.
The palace has 11 luxury suites, but its primary use is for meetings, conventions and private functions held in its sumptuous public rooms. Hotel guests can usually wander through and admire the public rooms if they are not in use.
The Kempinski has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and those marvelous Bosphorus views—but not from all rooms. Rooms on the west side of the hotel have "park views," meaning that the higher rooms look out across the Bosphorus coast road to the grounds of Yildiz Park, the forests and gardens surrounding Yildiz Palace. But the lower rooms on the west side look only at a high stone wall that sets off the Çiragan Palace grounds from the busy roadway.
If you plan to stay at the Kempinski for its Bosphorus views, be sure your room has one view !

Conrad Istanbul (Barbaros Blv. Yildiz Caddesi Besiktas.): In Yildiz
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Conrad Istanbul is next to the main buildings of Yildiz Palace on a hillside overlooking the Bosphorus. The hotel's public rooms are rich in colored stone with which Turkey abounds. Service is first-rate.
Most of its 584 guest rooms and 51 Executive rooms, suites and apartments have Bosphorus views. As with any hotel boasting Bosphorus views, the views vary from room to room--keep this in mind when you reserve.
The Conrad has an indoor-outdoor swimming pool and its own tennis courts as well as a spa, sauna and health club.Although the Conrad is right next to Yildiz Palace and only a noisy 10-minute walk uphill from busy Besiktas, with its Naval Museum, ferry dock and market district, you'll find yourself taking taxis to just about everywhere else.
If you're coming to Istanbul for business the Conrad is a good choice: from the hotel you can zoom right up Barbaros Bulvari to the Esentepe, Gayrettepe, Mecidiyeköy and Zincirlikuyu business districts.

Hotel The Marmara: In Taksim Again Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Marmara is the name of the sea of istanbul.
The Marmara, right in Taksim Square, is a modern high-rise offering splendid views of Istanbul's Old City, Beyoglu and the Bosphorus from its upper floors.
Groups and conventions often fill its 432 guest rooms. If you like a very central location in the midst of the bustle, this is it.
The Marmara also manages The Marmara Pera, a smaller modern high-rise hotel about a mile away across the street from the venerable Pera Palas Oteli in the Beyoglu district called Tepebasi.

    Hilton Istanbul: Classic
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Hilton Istanbul was the first deluxe hotel built in the city (1958).
Having been built first, it had the pick of the best sites, which is why it has 13 acres (over 5 hectares) of gardens, with tennis courts and swimming club, and superb views over Dolmabahce Palace to the Bosphorus beyond.
The Hilton is only a 15-minute walk north of Taksim Square northwest of Beyoglu, the shopping and nightclub district.
Most of the hotel's east-facing rooms have splendid Bosphorus views; the ones looking west overlook the city, which is less inspiring, but not bad. It's also the only top luxury hotel in which every room has its own balcony.
It has always been Istanbul's status address for me because of its great location, spacious gardens, and excellent staff plus a congress area which is excellent for dealers meetings

Ritz Carlton Istanbul: the worst building of the city
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Istanbul Ritz Carlton Istanbul
  • ritz carlton and his silhouette
  • by traveloturc , 1 more photos
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • The people who born in this city accept as a shame and as an insult this building and his silhouette.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Istanbul soars above Dolmabahçe Palace and the European shore of the Bosphorus, affording guests splended views from all sides (and from many of the rooms).
The very best views are reserved for the upper floors, which are actually luxury apartments, not part of the hotel proper.
A bonus: east-facing rooms have fantastic views of the Inönü Stadium, home of the Besiktas Spor football (soccer) team. On match days, you can see everything better than anyone actually seated in the stadium!
Although the hotel is not far from Taksim Square, the uphill walk along a heavily-trafficked road is not a pleasant one. Most of the time you'll find yourself using taxis to get around.

Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul: Well Located Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The aptly-named Swissôtel Istanbul-The Bosphorus has some of the finest Bosphorus views among Istanbul luxury hotels.
Besides fine indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Swissôtel has its own Bosphorus cruise boat for excursions, nightly dinner cruises, and a Sunday brunch cruise.
Managed by Singapore-based Raffles International despite its Swiss-ô name, the 600-room Swissôtel Istanbul is set on a hill overlooking Dolmabahçe Palace and the Bosphorus.
It's a great location for views, but less so for walking anywhere. You'll probably find yourself taking taxis most of the time.
If you are a walker you can stroll 15 minutes up the hill to the Tesvikiye and Nisantas districts for shopping and restaurants.

Buyuk Londra Oteli: London in istanbul
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Grand Hotel de Londres (Grand London Hotel, Büyük Londra Oteli), is one of Istanbul's two remaining late 19th-century European-style hotels in the Tepebasi district.
Built by the Glavani family in 1892, it was designed, like its more famous neighbor the Pera Palace Hotel (Pera Palas Oteli), to host Europeans arriving in Ottoman Constantinople by ship and Orient Express train.
The 54-room Grand London is an authentic period piece, having undergone much less restoration than the Pera Palas. It is a bit the worse for wear, with knocked-up woodwork, frayed furniture and creaky floors, but friendly, still serviceable and quite cheap for this area. If you're looking for unchanged Victorian Ottomania at a bargain price, this is it.
The location is not bad: a few minutes' stroll from Istiklal Caddesi, the British Consulate-General and Galatasaray and Tünel squares. Taxis along the broad avenue called Tarlabasi Bulvari provide fairly fast transport to Sultanahmet and Taksim Square; or walk to Taksim in about 15 minutes.

Hotel Pera Palas: Agatha Christie's favourite
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Orient Express, the historic Pera Palas Oteli holds a unique place in the annals of Istanbul lodging-places.
The management knows it, and will coax every dollar possible from the nostalgia factor.
The hotel's once-rich but now somewhat dowdy orientalist décor is strongly evocative of fin-de-siècle Constantinople, and many of its rooms have updated comforts, though they're not equal to modern luxury hotels at this price (US$250 double).
The location is not bad, a mile away from Taksim Square in the heart of Beyoglu's historic Tepebasi district right next to the US Consulate-General.
The Pera Palas's grand salons are often rented out for social events, which can make for noisy evenings. Refik Saydam Caddesi, a major traffic artery, streams right by the hotel's west side, adding to the noise.
Whether you stay here or just stroll in for a look, ask to see Atatürk's suite, kept as a museum. Dont foget to tip the bellman who shows you the suite...and feel the history

Unique Qualities: The Pera Palas, designed by the French architect Alexander Vallaury, opened October 1891. Among the visitors of Pera Palas are: Ismet Inönü, Celal Bayar, Adnan Menderes, Fahri Korutürk, Refik Koraltan, King Zogo of Albania, Shah Riza Pehlevi of Iran, King Edward VIII of England , King Ferdinand of Bulgaria, King Carol of Romania, president Tito of Yugoslavia and Jacqueline Kennedy, Giscard d’Estaing, Von Papen, Mata Hari Cicero, Agatha Christie, Yehudi Menuhin, Marie Bell. Pera Palas, which lived through the Ottoman decline, the founding of the Republic, two world wars and not to mention changing political, social and economic conditions has become a token of history.Taksim Istanbul

    Avicenna: In Sultanahmet Compare Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Istanbul Avicenna
  • Entrance of Avicenna
  • by traveloturc
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • like the Hotel Avicenna because it's a richly-restored Ottoman-style building with all modern comforts and conveniences in a quiet location on Amiral Tafdil Sokak (No. 31-33)for your info Amiral Tafdil is the grandfather of my wife... just a few minutes' stroll from Istanbul's Byzantine Hippodrome and Sultanahmet Square.
It's also an excellent choice for single women travelers. The Avicenna's 49 rooms make it large enough to host small groups and meetings, but small enough to provide personal service.
Guest rooms are on two sides of the building, and on several levels. Many of those facing east have balconies with views of the Sea of Marmara. Some of those facing west have views of the Blue Mosque. The sea-view rooms are a bit larger and a bit higher in price.
All rooms have modern private bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TVs, direct-dial telephones, and minibars. Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel.
The top-floor Terrace Café-Bar and the pleasant Garden Restaurant have fine Sea of Marmara views. The ground-floor breakfast room has garden views.
To find the Avicenna, just walk along Mimar Mehmet Aga Caddesi—the street running by the Blue Mosque on the Ayasofya side—follow it downhill to its end, and the Avicenna is on the right.
When you leave the hotel to see the sights, it couldn't be easier: walk out of the hotel and straight along Mimar Mehmet Aga Caddesi and after less than five minutes you'll bump into the Blue Mosque!

Unique Qualities: The hotel manager, Ms Esra Kizilkaya, makes sure that women travelers are especially comfortable and secure. The neighborhood is tourist- and female-friendly.
