This was a great site to visit. Knowing that you are walking the remains of one of the oldest cities in the world is fantastic.

There are various tombs near the Ziggurat. You can see the small tombs of commoners and the royal tombs. The Queen Puabi is where the golden harp was found.
What is believed by some to to be the childhood home of Abraham is located near the Ziggurat. The bible mentions the birthplace of Abraham the patriarc as Ur Kasdim. The home has been reconstructed on the original foundation with the original bricks. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the color difference at the bottom where the foundation was intact.
- Pros:Great historical site
- Cons:Located in a dangerous part of the world
