Occupied territory or not? | The wall by Rachel's tomb in Betlehem |
I visited Palestine with Norwegian People's Aid this summer, and when I say Palestine I am as of now refering to the West Bank and Gaza. I was lucky enough to be able to see Gaza, especially Rafah, before the disengagement, and trust me, it was not good... When reading my pages and tips on this area of the world, please note that I am not against jews, the israeli inhabitants or anything like that. I am however very critical to the ways of the Israeli army in the occupied territories as I now have seen them in action, and I also support the UN Resolution that says that the wall is illigal and must be destroyed. Therefore I will among other things give tips on where you can stay in Israel so that you support the Palestinians there, especially in Jerusalem.
My friend in Rafah is a photographer and a journalist. He is known for showing the truth, no sensur. Why stribe to protect our feelings from watching pictures of the brutal truth when he lives that hell every day?You can visit his homepage here: www.rafahtoday.org |
