Bryggen, or in English the warf, is the big pride of Bergen.
Take a stroll down the picturesque street and admire the wooden buildings, the docks, the boats coming in, enjoy the sunset over a coffee or an ice-cream... or how 'bout a beer in one of the many bars and restaurants around?
The Bergen population is a little loud, but lots of fun:) They also make a characteristic prononsiation of the letter "R" that is typical for the south western Norway. As I come from a part of the country that doesn't make this sound I must admit that we further north do tease them for it:) |

Boys' marching band As characteristic for Bergen as the rain are the different "buekorps", a type of boys' marching band.
They do reherse in public during the weekends so there is a good chance to see and hear them. | | |
