Bali Almost Perfect

by apple-melati - last update: Jun 30, 2006

Such a sunny day at Tanah Lot

Amazing Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is one of the most amazing spot in the island of paradise, Bali. There is a small unique temple over the cliff which considered as a holly place, tourists are not allowed to enter. The sunset view and the sounds of big waves hit the rocks were perfect. Last November 2005, I rented a car from Kuta that cost me RP.120,000/day plus RP.50,000 for the driver's fee. It took me around one and half hours drive from Kuta beach to Tanah Lot.

One fine sunset in Kuta

Kuta beach is perhaps the most crowded tourists spot in Bali, but I love it here. The accomodation in this area vary from the cheapest room with no aircon up to the luxurious spa and resort, all are scattered along side the beach. Easy access to everywhere. The famous hard rock cafe is one of the most popular place for tourists. Surfing is a must here, if you dont have your own surfing board, there are a lot of surfing boards you can rent with the average price around RP50,000 - RP70,000/hour. From a week of my stay in Kuta, watching sunset was the thing I love the most.

Sanur and the Turtle Island

Sanur beach is less crowded than Kuta, most tourists come here for the water sports such as parasailing, riding jetski and diving. There are some rented boats alongside the beach that can take tourists from sanur to the turtle island, cost around RP250,000 up to RP300,000. As for my experience, the turtle island wasn't really interesting, it's just a pretty small pool where there're bunch of huge turtles with some strange smells.

Pros:"The island of magnificent beaches"
Cons:"It's way too hot for me, even hotter than Jakarta!"
