Stunning Granite Boulders at Tanjung Kelayang

Exploring Belitung's beaches

Our first visit to Belitung island turned out to be truly unforgetable. We enjoyed every moment of our stay in this beautiful island. We flied from Jakarta by Batavia Air to Tanjung Pandan airport in Belitung. There are several local airlines fly from Jakarta to Tanjung Pandan daily and takes about 45 minutes. From the airport, there's not much public transport option, at that time we rent a car to take us to our hotel in Tanjung Kelayang beach. The rental price is IDR300,000 (30$), pretty expensive actually but since we didnt have other option so we took it.

The Tanjung Kelayang cottage where we stayed was kinda nice even though it's very basic. There's a fan in the room and the bed was covered by mosquito nett. The room price's IDR150,000 (15$)/night. We rent a motorbyke to get around during the day from one beach to another. We explored Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Tinggi, Tanjung Binga, and Bukit Berahu. The rental cost for the bike's IDR70.000/day (7$).

Tanjung Kelayang beach is best for watching sunrise while Tanjung Tinggi is best for watching sunset. Granite boulders are spread all over the beach at every beach we visited. When the weather's good, clear blue sky and the heat of the sunshine make the boulders looks so stunning.
