"Wine, wine a ..." a Rüdesheim am Rhein Travel Page by plant_girl

Arrived from Dubai via Frankfurt and, after locating our hotel (Hotel Lindenwirt), got straight into it. Found this nice little wine-stub, next to a quaint church. The wine was OK, but the owner was very helpfull and explained the German classification system to us.

Saw a lot of the Drosselgrasse as our room was above it! Had a great vertical tasting of Rhine Rieslings at the restaurant opposite our hotel - the combination of jetlag and wine meant the noise of the Drosselgrasse wasn't an issue that night!

Caught the cable-car up to the Neiderwald monument, where we visited the falconry and admired the views. Then walked through the woods to the chairlift down to Assmanshausen, where we ... Drank more wine!

Met several elderly locals who told us about themselves and the area, including an elderly man who had helped establish the falconry we visited earlier - he had photos of him flying the eagles in a bag on his wheelchair.
