The Tree The Tornado Blew Over In My Yard

TORNADOS

If I could think of a reason to move from some where, tornados would definately be on the list. The last summer I was here, we had over a dozen tornado warnings in the month of July alone. I had the unfortunate experience of coming up close and personal with 2 tornados while I lived here. The first one in 1996 came down Main St., jumped over my day care center, ripped the roof off of the neighbors house and dropped it in my parking lot. Yes I was freaking. This same tornado destroyed a canning factory in a town about 10 miles away and continued to drop debris from that town all over our town. Robert and I stood outside at the Eden Cafe and watched the tornado progress through the town. Luckily no one was hurt. Then in 1999, I was in the convenience store across the street from my house, when I heard that sound. The sound of a train coming. Lo and behold, the windows blew in and we all ran to the back of the store. When we went outside to see what had happend, I discovered that a 30 year old pine tree in my yard had been uprooted and was laying on the side walk.
